Art in the Breweries
The Arts Council’s first-ever ART IN THE BREWERIES fundraiser begins August 1 and continues through to the end of September. Thirteen local artists created and donated 19 beer-themed artworks to be placed in a silent auction at 11 Ontario County breweries. The fundraiser connects beer lovers and art lovers in appreciation of the artistry and craftsmanship in Ontario County and supports the Arts Council’s scholarship and grant programs.
The Arts Council is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and annually awards a $2,000 grant to a deserving second-year arts student attending Finger Lakes Community College. It also provides grants in support of local projects that enrich the community and expands exposure to the arts to new and underserved audiences. In 2021, the Arts Council awarded $3,800 to five organizations in the county.
The participating breweries are generously providing space for the donated artwork along with signage that provides information about the fundraiser and the silent bidding process. The goal is for patrons of the 11 breweries to place bids on the artwork with the artwork going to the highest bidder.
Patrons can also pick up a Beer Art in the Breweries Passport and enter a drawing to win a $25 gift certificate at a participating brewery of their choice. Patrons are encouraged to visit each of the participating breweries, list the names of the artwork at each location, then take a photo of their passport with their phone and email the list to firstname.lastname@example.org by September 30.
Winning bidders of the artwork and the winner of the Beer Art in the Breweries Passport drawing will be contacted by email.
