Neal Allen connects technique to vision in his show of pastel paintings that ran April 3 to May 15 in the gallery at Fort Hill Performing Arts Center. Working in pastel, Allen is conscious of how materials, techniques, and pigments can be used to connect to a subject, to express it creatively, strike a mood, and to explore its textures and light. The world around him provides Allen limitless inspiration and opportunity to connect to it creatively, and pastel provides Allen the perfect medium to do this.
