ART IN LIBRARIES

A Community Outreach Project

Goal: Expand access to local artists and the visual arts

It is our goal to expand the visual arts in Ontario County. One way to accomplish this is to facilitate the display of visual arts at local libraries. This also expands the opportunities for our member artists and other local artists to share their work.

  • We started at the Bristol Library in 2013 by installing an exhibit system in a corner above their public access computers.

  • In the fall of 2015, we provided funds for the Bloomfield Library to install an art display system in its entrance hall and community room.

  • In June of 2016, we provided a grant to the Victor-Farmington Library for a similar art display system. The Wood Library in Canandaigua also received an OCAC grant to refurbish their community room exhibit system.

  • In 2018, we awarded the Naples Library a grant to purchase two exhibit systems, one for its Children’s area and one for its downstairs community room.
